Hello again 😁
Yesterday, I posted on here about the appeal I made for help last August, with hosting a FREE CAREER SEMINAR in Abuja. Well, I also posted the testimony from the FREE CAREER SEMINAR that ended up being a tour across Abuja, and in Nasarawa and Kaduna States. I literally posted the ensuing on Facebook too on 24th October 2019:
When I started getting inspirational signals about hosting a Free Career Seminar in Abuja, I thought it'd be a one-day event where parents & students would attend & started making preparations. Well, Abuja isn't exactly cheap & I didn't have sponsors, just a donation (thanks so much Pat 😘). I went to God about strategy & He led me to employ a similar strategy I've used in Ilorin: hold the seminars at various schools, like a tour. That way, venue is free and logistics are a lot easier to handle. Sis Faith offered to help out and she was able to secure some schools in Nasarawa (thank you 😘).
So, arrived Abuja and on the day the seminar week was to commence (7th October), I didn't have any Abuja school secured yet. I wasn't worried though cos God had had me building up my faith about it by praying in the Spirit (Jude 20) for a specific time over a period of some days in September, so I wasn't moved. I felt abit uneasy at some point, like I should do something, so I got ready, printed five letters on the Consultancy's letterhead, made copies of my CV suited for that purpose and attached the docs.
My biggest bro IJJ had made enquiries at Airforce Girls Comprehensive School (AFGCS) for me prior, so I dropped off the letter as directed there and at a junction on the way to town with my other brother Wamildu, stopped at a pedestrian bridge when I sighted some schools' signboards and dropped two letters. I had arranged to meet up with a friend that day and since she worked at a school, I asked her to talk to the principal about hosting the seminar at the school too, sent an e-flyer to her phone and dropped the letter afterwards. On my way to see her, I stopped at The Lord's Garden and dropped a letter at Destiny Christian Academy (DCA).
Five letters + CVs dropped! My own was, the worst that could happen is not to be called back but at least, I tried 🤷♀️🙂. Well, I prayed for favour before going and it was our week of favour at Church too, so God definitely went ahead of me. To God's glory, I got called from four out of those five schools and the seminars across went fabulous.
I had prior to these, set a salient target of 1000 students in Abuja and I calculated that if I get 100 students from 10 schools each, I'll hit my target. Well...
I was only able to secure four schools in Abuja. And you know what? God gave me exceeding, abundantly far above all I could ask, think and imagine. Two schools had their whole students in attendance and gave me 1033 participants (AFGCS - 535 and DCA - 498).
Remember, Abuja was the original intention; Nasarawa and Kaduna were just "gyara" that I thought, why not? 🤷♀️😃 My Mum put a word for me with a teacher working at a school and my sis Wasini went along with me to see another school's principal; that's how KD got in the bag 😄. My biggest sis Nkwawi kept keeping tabs as things unfolded.
In summary 😅, number of participating schools and students :
Abuja (four schools) - 1105
Kaduna (two schools) - 105
Nasarawa (two schools) - 66
Total: 1276 students across two states and the FCT!
🗣️🗣️ And when I thought that He had done too much, O O O, JESUS DID IT AGAIN!* 🎊🥳💃🙌🙏
Thank you Lord for favour, grace, utterance, protection and much more. Thanks so much to my family for your unending support. Your belief in me is something I've never doubted. God blessed me with a steady team of cheerleaders via you all. Thank you. Thanks to all the participating schools for their support and faith in me. Thanks to my mentor Kofi Amoateng and my friends for cheering me on and upholding me in prayer. Thanks Shettima Kadir for highlighting the need and providing suggestions on how to measure the impact of my work. I'm just so blessed. Thank you Jesus!
